*Of Kelantan and pride

Assalamualaykum..

Last night while waiting for his flight back to KL, a very good friend of mine texted me.
It was a bit odd, as we rarely exchange text messages since he and I worked.
[My friends should know that I prefer phone call rather than text.]
But last night was different because his messages came when I was watching a Korean drama on air.
So, a phone call might 'jeopardize' me watching the lovely couple in the story. LOL
And having him replying to my texts with a speed of light, that's even more peculiar.
I guess he was damn bored last night, having no one around to talk to.
And I was right.

He sent me something interesting last night, I thought I'd share it with you.
I laughed aloud when I read it, but I had to agree with him about it.
So I quote:

"You can take a man out of Kelate, but you can't take Kelate out of him."

That's so true, you know.
Perhaps if you have friends or somebody you know who are from Kelantan, you can prove that to be true. Hehehehhehe.

I remembered when I was in Maktab, a friend from Johore asked me why do we Kelantanese always have that kind of 'aura' among us.
As if we know everyone from the our state.
I just laughed, not being able to explain to her as I myself can't understand it.
Whenever we the Kelantanese meet, most of us (if not all), just clicked!
I think you'd agree if I say that you can find Kelantanese in almost every part of Malaysia.
So being the 'minorities' in a not-so-foreign land, kinda make us extra happy to see somebody from where we come from.
LOL

Another thing that my friends (who aren't from Kelantan) always complaining about is the Kelantan men and their dialects.
They said it's like "irama dan lagu, tak boleh nak dipisahkan."
Again I laughed, while agreeing that to be true too.

Well, I don't know...
I guess this theory of the 'invisible' bond between the Kelantanese is unique.
As well as the Kelantan males who are overly proud of their slang.
Please, I'm not saying that other states are not equally unique or interesting.
We do have our own speciality, don't we all?
:)

"You can take me out of Kelate, but you can't take Kelate out of me."
[Chewah!!!]
